We are a specialist family law company with offices in Hertford, Hertfordshire and the City of London.

We advise and represent people who are divorcing, dissolving their civil partnership, or ending their relationship as well as those who wish to formalise their partnership or marriage arrangements by way of a pre or post nuptial agreement or a living together agreement. You will find more detailed information about the areas of law we deal with in the Expertise tab above.

Many people like the opportunity to speak with a lawyer to obtain initial advice about their legal position, to discuss the options available to them, and to clarify fees before they decide what further steps to take which is why we offer everyone one free, no obligation, consultation.

Our free consultations take place during our usual office hours between 9.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday by telephone or video link (Microsoft Teams). The consultation is not limited to a specific length of time; we spend as much time with you as is necessary to ensure that we have provided the answers to all your legal questions.

As part of the free consultation, we also provide you with a selection of our information sheets on relevant subject matters, links to courts and organisations that may be helpful to you, and full details of our fees so you have all the information you need to make an informed decision about how to wish to proceed.

We are also happy to provide free consultations to those who already have legal representation and simply want a second opinion.

We understand that people lead busy lives and are not always able to find time during office hours to deal with legal issues which is why our service is flexible, allowing us to work around your schedule. Our office hours are 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and we offer evening and weekend appointments to existing clients. There is no need to see us in person at our office, unless you wish to do so, as we offer telephone and video link (Microsoft Teams) appointments.

By making use of modern technology and business methods, we have reduced our operating cost which is why we can offer highly competitive rates on all our services. We also offer fixed fees on some of our services.

If you are unable to afford legal fees, our lawyers can advise whether you can obtain funds in another way, such as applying for a Litigation Loan from specialist providers or making an application to court for a Legal Services Order requesting your partner pays your legal fees.

It is also possible to keep your legal fees down by dealing with the case yourself and instructing us on a consultancy only basis. This means that you deal with the case yourself and instruct us only when you want advice on specific points of law or procedure, help with drafting specific documents etc.

When it comes to representation at court hearings, we would normally instruct Counsel (barrister) to attend hearings with you. However, if you are unable to afford Counsel or you are instructing us on a consultancy only basis, we can advise on how you can instruct Counsel yourself (known as Direct Access) and can provide you with a list of organisations that may be able to help you with representation at court for little or no charge at all.
