Court fees have increased by almost 15% from 1st September 2010 and may increase even more next year. The Government has stated that the fee increases are necessary in order to cover the cost of running the civil and the family courts. This follows the announcement that the Government is considering closing down over 100 Magistrates and over 50 County courts.
